Members

Individuals who participate in the debates. Members may group themselves within a party structure or may stand as independents.

Motions

The topic under debate is proposed by a motion describing the basis of the debate.

Point of information

Members may request to provide a point of information during a debate. It is up to the member currently speaking as to whether or not they allow the point to be made.

Private Members Bill

A motion put forward by any member on any topic as opposed to a motion being put forward by a political party.

Speaker

A member of the House who chairs the debate. All speeches, questions and points of information should be addressed to the Speaker.
